TCAPS Student Devices - Chromebooks

Every K-12 TCAPS student has been assigned the following:
  • Chromebook
  • Charger

Every K-5 TCAPS student was also assigned a Device Case.
We recommend keeping these in a safe location.  Your child will need them for Virtual Learning, as well as for learning at school.

Working in Chrome

In our district, we do most of our work online.  The Chromebook allows your child to access the Internet, but they can access most TCAPS resources on any internet-connected device.

If students are NOT using a TCAPS issued Chromebook, they will need to sign in to the Chrome web browser. We also recommend that students sign out of the Chrome browser before other family members use the device.
  • Directions for Sharing a Chrome Browser with Others
  • Turn sync on and off (this process "logs you in" to the browser)
  • Chrome Web Browser - can be downloaded on any personal device.

TCAPS IMPORTANT SITES

Students should always start by going to the TCAPS Cloud.  This is their student portal, and contains all the TCAPS sites they need to access, including the following:
  • Google Meet (This is where students will have LIVE meetings with their teacher.)
  • Brightspace (This is your students online classroom.  K-2 students will start at Brightspace, but will do their work in Seesaw.)
  • Google Drive (This is where students will store, share, and access their files and folders)
Additional websites may be used at the discretion of your child's teacher.

If your child is using a QR code to log in to the TCAPS Cloud, here are the directions on how to log in.
